The 3.3% tax on reward withdrawals

한국어

Why 3.3% withholding tax and a resident registration number apply to points withdrawals, the settlement date, and how to issue a certificate of termination.

When you withdraw points as cash, 3.3% tax is deducted from the payment automatically. Here is why it is deducted, how much actually arrives, and why your resident registration number is needed.

Why 3.3% (withholding tax)

Under tax law, campaign rewards are classified as business income. The party paying business income to an individual (inlink) must deduct part of the income tax at the time of payment and report and pay it to the tax authority — this is called withholding.

  • The withholding rate is 3.3% (3% income tax plus 0.3% local income tax).
  • It is not an amount inlink sets; it is the tax that applies generally when business income is paid to an individual.
  • It appears as a separate 3.3% withholding tax line in the "amount you receive" card on the withdrawal screen (/wallet/withdraw).

Calculating what you receive

Enter an amount on the withdrawal screen and these three lines are calculated immediately.

  1. Requested amount — the points you want to withdraw
  2. 3.3% withholding tax — 3.3% of the requested amount (fractions dropped)
  3. Net payment — the requested amount less tax, the amount that actually reaches your account

For example, requesting 100,000P deducts KRW 3,300 in tax, giving a net payment of KRW 96,700. The screen shows the note "after 3.3% withholding".

받는 금액출금 신청 금액100,000P세금 3.3% (원천징수)−3,300원실지급액96,700원

Why your resident registration number is needed

inlink has to report the tax it withholds to the National Tax Service together with the payee's identifying details. That is why the withdrawal screen has a "resident registration number — for withholding tax reporting" field, and why the first 6 and last 7 digits are required before a request can be made.

  • The last digits are stored encrypted and handled securely after the withdrawal (tax reporting) is complete.
  • The account holder name and the resident registration number must match for the withdrawal to proceed.
  • Minors must withdraw using a parent's details (account and resident registration number) rather than their own.

Settlement date (the 10th of the following month)

Withdrawal requests are collected each month and paid together on the 10th of the following month (the next business day if that falls on a weekend or holiday).

  • Requests made between the 1st and the last day of a month → paid together on the 10th of the next month
  • While a request is pending, you can cancel it yourself from your withdrawal history.
  • Once payment processing has started, it cannot be cancelled.

Splitting your requests across a month does not change the settlement date. For the full request process, see How to withdraw your points.

Certificate of termination and other documents

If you need documentation for a tax filing or proof of income, you can issue a certificate of termination yourself.

  1. Go to the document issuance menu in the Help Center.
  2. Choose certificate of termination.
  3. The certificate is issued with your activity period calculated automatically from your completed withdrawal history.

You can issue it directly at /help/documents/certificate.
